This week on PNT Tv Music I’m bringing you the new up and coming MC “Kreayshawn.”

Recently, in an interview with Afterellen.com, she discussed her sexuality as being a from of “occasional lesbianism.” She stayed away from putting on a label. This I can understand from a musicians point-of-view, but she made a comment that hasn’t gone over too well within the lady-loving-lady community.

“I’m not a raging lesbian,” she said…

It seems as though her choice of words and conceptual intellect are just as horrible as her lyrics and creative talent or lack thereof. I’m not impressed. After just a short year of rapping, Kreayshawn is rumored to have received a million dollar contract from Sony. There is a saying within the music community; “If it happens over-night, it’s not right.”

Kreayshawn is NOT hip hop and will NOT ever be. Any random white girl you pull off the street could rap her song “Gucci Gucci.” We need women rappers who stand for something real, who are talented, and who really want to change the perspective on women within the hip hop community, within the music industry, and within the LGBTQ community. Kreayshawn is a mix of contradictions and mixed messages is definitely not something that is going to benefit anyone.
